There are kinds of carbon fiber molding processes, such as common molding, RTM, autoclave molding, etc., and the PCM molding process is also a kind of carbon fiber molding, so what is the specific process?

The PCM molding process has also become a molding method. The semi-finished carbon fiber composite material after stamping is put into the mold in advance, and then heated and pressurized to form and solidify. In recent years, prepreg has been more and more widely used because of its precise fiber and resin ratio.

The PCM molding process, as an ideal carbon fiber composite material hot pressing process outside the tank, can not only greatly shorten the molding cycle and improve the production efficiency, but also has the advantages of high dimensional accuracy, good surface finish, relatively low production cost, and easy realization of complex structural parts. Due to the good fiber orientation in the product, the strength and stiffness of the product are relatively high, and it has become an important molding process for carbon fiber composite materials.

The usual curing temperature of the PCM process is around 170°C, and the cold laying and cold stripping actually used in the PCM process. When the mold is at the cold end, the prepreg should be gradually layered on the mold according to the product structure requirements, and then the molding press should be closed after the layering with you to provide a certain pressure. At this time, the mold temperature machine is used to adjust the mold.

Carry out a temperature rise, usually the process is to heat up from room temperature to 170 ° C, and the heating rate needs to be 3-5 ° C/min, which can be adjusted according to different products, most of which are this plastic, wait until the mold temperature reaches the set temperature. Start heat preservation and pressure to cure the product at high temperature. After curing, it is also necessary to use the mold temperature machine to cool down the temperature of the mold to normal temperature, and the heating rate is also 3-5 ℃/min, and then open the mold and take out the parts.

During the PCM molding process, due to the particularity of the process involving the control of multiple temperature points, PLC control is generally required for the mold temperature machine, and the communication signal of the mold temperature machine is communicated with the upper computer of the molding press. The machine controls the molding temperature and the heating and cooling rate, and at some specific times, the interlock between the press and the mold temperature machine can be realized.

The temperature control is relatively strict in the whole process, especially the heating rate and cooling rate, both of which must be heated in a linear manner, and the whole process should be stable, otherwise the molded products are prone to internal stress, which will cause the products warping, deformation and other defects occur.
